Once the most controversial album in jazz, On the Corner is now celebrated as the prophetic blueprint for hip-hop, post-punk, and electronic music. Trading traditional solos for a dense, street-funk "jungle sound," Miles utilized heavy tape-editing and distorted wah-wah trumpet to create a hypnotic, rhythmic collage. It remains one of the most radical and futuristic recordings of the 20th century.
