Released in 2007, Welcome to the Night Sky marked a breakthrough moment for Halifax’s Wintersleep. Their third full-length album—and first with producer Tony Doogan (Belle and Sebastian, Mogwai)—saw the band refining their blend of atmospheric indie rock and anthemic hooks. The record’s success helped earn them the Juno Award for New Group of the Year in 2008.
